Live broadcast on SuperSport

The Absa Cape Epic is thrilled to announce that the prologue as well as the final stage of the race will be broadcast live for the first time in its history on SuperSport, which has backed the Absa Cape Epic since its inception. Although the event will only be broadcast live on the African continent this year, plans are already underway to do so worldwide in 2012.
Says Kevin Vermaak, founder and director of the Absa Cape Epic: "We believe the live broadcasts will make it accessible to all those interested in following the race and hopefully it will be broadcast live internationally by 2012. We're extremely proud of this new development and will be working with a top production team with experience in international live golf broadcasts."
According to Head of Channels at SuperSport, Tex Texeira, they are delighted with this new development. "Mountain biking has become one of the fastest growing sports in South Africa and naturally our viewers are interested in following the Absa Cape Epic, the most televised mountain bike stage race in the world. We're very proud to be the first television channel to bring the first and final day live to viewers across the African continent."
